Well I didn't think I would be writing about this interview but it's needed. Like so many women Jenny Sanford tried to have a positive and supportive outlook on her marriage even though its wasn't the fiery romance novels are made of, it was at first glance solid and healthy. I know there were signs like his refusal to keep the fidelity vow that should have been more closely evaluated but sometimes in love you are blind (I speak from experience) but we learn from our mistakes and luckily so did she I pray other women will follow your example and show that deserve better. To think someone you bore 4 children for worked 4 campaigns and 20 years could be so careless, callous and disrespectful is impossible to believe. To you Ms. Sanford my support.


Dear Ms. Sanford:

First I'd like to say I'm honored to call SC my home and your strength through this ordeal has given all South Carolinian women inspiration that we are not to be treated like we don't matter and for that I applaud you. We know right now you and your children have been through one of the worst emotional scenarios possible and know as it is our states culture we will support you it does not matter our political lines, ethnic and racial boundaries, or economic status we are women of the same soil and we feel your pain. Continue to be strong for your children and we wish you the utmost happiness in the future.

Book Review: "Push" by Sapphire

Please excuse my tiredness in the video had a long day lol!

As some of you may know I am a self-proclaimed book worm on the average your girl reads about 4-5 books a month if my schedule permits (it usually does because I don't do much lol). So in October when the movie came out my cousin and I both were more than excited to go experience all what "Precious" had to offer. Well! We were definitely surprised to say the least lol some say the movie was mediocre at best my opinion it was flawless I loved it the passion the drama the overcoming obstacles. Let me get back on track this is not the movie review but the review of the book the movie is based off.



The Beginning:

Okay so as the book starts its a little difficult to read because its written in the way the character Precious currently speaks and the scene that is set is one of complete destitution and sadness. It's heartbreaking to here her tale of illiteracy and what she feels is intellectual inadequacy to other students in her public school. Her lack of education is tragic enough but to add to her burdens she's sixteen and pregnant for the second time. The book clearly paints a picture of her feeling of self and lays the ground work to how she will evolve as the story continues.

The Middle:

Things seem to always get worse before they get better in any situation and this tale is no exception you read all the atrocities she experience at the hands of her own mother and feel her pain as the story is gracefully illustrated by Sapphire. By this time in a book you can tell if it will be a great read or not and "Push" does not disappoint even with its difficult subject matter the book flows at a pace that lets you absorb and understand what is going and makes you anticipate the next page (like a horror flick where don't want to look and you look anyway). Even in though this tragedy is playing out on the pages you see a gleam of light once she starts her alternative education and her self realization that it's possible for her to overcome her current circumstances successfully.

The End:

By this time you see clearly the semi-failure/success of the "system" also her mother's mental illness becomes very evident and partially explains not excuses her vile actions towards her child. We also see the added dynamic of being diagnosed with HIV from her own father and how she is able to cope with the cards that she has been dealt. Sapphire so cleverly puts each woman's individual story of self-acceptance and redemption by intertwining them with that of Precious to illustrate the magnitude of how one's situation can improve, with the proper guidance, education and support from caring people can start you on the road to a more improved being.

This book gets a five page turns out of 5!

Disclaimer: Okay before I get started in no way am I expecting a man to be perfect! I know one man can't posses all that I "ask" for. This is a general list of qualities and attributes that when several are combined I become intrigued......... thanks for reading. 

Alright now that legalities are out of the way lets get this rolling!!!!

The men out there who fit a combination of my following qualifications please comment and I can email you the application and upon review set up a face to face interview and testing. lol I've thought about this a long time (with some trial and error involved) and have come to the following conclusions:

1. A great sense of who God is and who the great I AM is to them. Reason when a man has a relationship with God and understands his words and teachings he automatically has gotten the correct instructions on how to treat himself and mate/girlfriend/partner. For example.... 

Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

Ephesians 5:28-29 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies, he that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:

2. It's always good for a man to know who HE really is and not make apologies to me or anyone else for the characteristics that make him who he is. I appreciate a guy who shows me the real him not some fake version of who he thinks I want him to be!! All perpetrators will be promptly escorted to the door of my life and  banned for all eternity I'm like St. Peter once the decision is made thats it!! 

3. For all those guys who think women don't like nice guys you haven't met me yet have you? Let me introduce myself my name is  Drea or Ms.Babygurl if you nasty lol. Please if you fit the description of all around nice guy, geek, nerd, techie, book worm, eccentric, oddball, or combination of the stated. Trust I will look your way lol I look for glasses, pocket protectors, the whole nine lol (this is a metaphor people). 

4. One of my biggest and refer back to #1 for this one. Be honest its that simple give me the straight up, shoot from the hip whatever way you say it, if it will hurt my feelings use tact.  A man who is honest, will always grab my attention. Because one my mantras that I live by is all you really have in life is your God, your name, your knowledge, and your WORD. 

5. Manners, home training, etiquette trust and believe Chivalry is not dead we just don't practice it on the regular anymore and that's where the main problem is. Sometimes we as women have forgot how to let a man be a man, and we try to be both man and woman. Don't get it twisted a woman should be independent, educated, and deserves to be paid the same as a man for the same work, but we don't have to ALWAYS be on the war path and out for blood about everything damn just be who you really are a woman its okay to be soft sometime! On that note there is no gold digging going on either me personally I see that as laziness and professionally manipulative I'm just saying, I want a man to open doors, be protective, or buy me a gift because he WANTS to not because he feels he HAS to.

6. Being open-minded is a must!!! Come on we have one life to live this is not a dress rehearsal people!! I want a guy who doesn't shy away from some of my crazy whims (those who know me know exactly what I'm talking about), in addition please have a few quirks and whims of your own it will make our season together much more interesting! 

7. For my final wish I need a man to be caring and affectionate not slobber in public affectionate yuck (this is not written in stone if we are out and you look at me and something in you wants to grab me and kiss me go for what you know who am I to stop you, lol) but just someone who understands when you want to be held, and takes the gift my body as SERIOUS as I do.......

See not that bad huh??? Like I said before I'm in no way expecting a man to have the exact things I've wished for but this is just a start lol. Thanks for sharing the ultimate gift you can give, your time to spend this little moment traipsing around my brain lol.....

I absolutely love chillin @ the Natural Salon w/ my cuz and my girls its soo much the same and different from a traditional salon no strong chemical smells, babies crying, and never ending gossip with back that thing up blaring on the radio. Instead we get the loving smells of natural essential oils, honest intelligent conversation, debates political and social, neosoul/jazz/africanbeats mealding together and soothing the ears...awww I love my natural spot lol.

SC I said this earlier we need to watch who we elect and appoint to public office. You mean to tell me this man is an Assistant Atty General and had stripper money but no hotel $ Seriously. I know I know some of the extra freaky will say what's the big deal its a cemetery but here is the big deal that is a misdemeanor crime to have your genitalia exposed in a public place and yes a cemetery is still public even if most of the population there is dead just sayin. Also sodomy is STILL illegal in SC no they have not taken that of the books yet...even though supposedly "everyone does it" its still a prosecutable crime. I am just not really understanding how do these "educated" and "professional" officials not understand basic tact, quoth, and social norms; it boggles the mind I swear I hate to see what else our wonderful home state will bestow upon us.... As of right now if anybody asks I'm from Fayetteville, NC on the real LOL

COLUMBIA -- A former South Carolina legislator has been fired from the Attorney Generals office in response to a Columbia police report alleging he was discovered Monday with a stripper in a downtown cemetery.
The report released Wednesday states that 66-year-old Roland Corning was stopped Monday after his car was spotted parked in the Elmwood Cemetary near downtown Columbia. Police claim the area is known for sex and drug activity. Corning is a former state legislator who served in the 1990s and had served in the Attorney General's office since 2000.
According the the report, an 18-year-old woman who works at the Platinum Plus strip club was inside the vehicle with Corning along with Viagra and sex toys. Corning told the officer the items were there "just in case," according to the report.
Corning identified himself as a prosecutor and showed his badge issued by the Attorney General's office. He was not arrested. A spokesman for Attorney General Henry McMaster said Wednesday that Corning no longer worked there and was fired almost immediately once the office learned of the incident.
Corning has surrendered his keys and badge and no longer has access to the office, said communications director Mark Plowden via phone.
Columbia Police Chief Tandy Carter defended the officer's actions during an afternoon press conference. The police report states that as soon as the officer arrived the vehicle Corning was in attempted to leave the cemetary at a high rate of speed. Officer Michael D. Wines called other officers to help find the vehicle and it was located and stopped a few blocks from the cemetary on Wayne Street. No citations were issued.
WACH Fox News attempted to contact Corning. There was no answer at his listed phone number.

A former state lawmaker has lost his job with the state attorney general's office... after a scandalous accusation he was having sex in a cemetery.
According to Columbia police... an officer stopped 66 -year old "Roland Corning" Monday afternoon after his car was spotted at Elmwood Cemetery in an area police say is known for sex.
And--- as if that's not enough--- how police handled the case has some people asking questions.
"If he was engaged in any illegal activity he would have been arrested," says Chief Tandy Carter.
Columbia Police Chief Tandy Carter, defending his officer's actions after police say they found a former attorney general prosecutor with an 18-year old stripper at Columbia's Elmwood Cemetery.
According to an incident report...an officer spotted 66-year old Roland Corning and a Platinum Plus employee in a secluded area of the cemetery Monday afternoon.The report says...Corning tried to speed away when cops approached him...an officer tracked him down several blocks away.
"The officer searched the vehicle, didn't find anything of a criminal nature, or anything illegal and after that was over he was released," says Carter.
What the officer did find might interest you...the report says Corning had Viagra and several sex toys in the car...when officers asked why...Corning reportedly said quote "just in case."
The report says corning flashed his attorney general's badge...he was released and never ticketed...however he was fired just hours after Henry McMaster's office learned of the incident.
"Well that inappropriate behavior and it was appropriate that he no longer be an employee of the office," says McMaster.
"There’s absolutely nothing to be embarrassed about what we did, what that officer did was textbook perfect," says Carter.
Dash-cam video of what happened after the so-called cemetery sexscapade has not been released yet...but Columbia police say it will show officers properly handled the situation.Corning was a state representative in the 1990's.

My Messy Divorce from Mainstream Hip Hop --> Updated

Okay coming to work in the car this morning something struck me.... I gues an epiphany of sorts it the problem with mainstream hip hop and why I have fallen out of love with it. We talk about the music represents what is happening in the streets, really are you serious!!! This is been the same mediocre argument of rappers for the last 15 years come lets try something else. In actuality the mainstream music has become a sort of enabler or a scape goat of being triffling yeah I said it triffling!! The music sends the message to our youth that it is ok to participate in illegal activities for profit at the expense of the community, its okay for young ladies to exploit their bodies and be dangeroulsy promiscuious, and the only thing important in life is houses you can't pay for, gold platinum chains and mouths full of hideously overdone jewels; "artists" and I use that term loosely get it together obviously your messages are not working. Really I thought when something is not working change it please mainstream take that advice change up your message... and don't look at is as ohhhh I will stop selling records I will no longer be popular if the majority changes the outcome changes.... that simple!

In closing my breakup letter with mainstream hip-hop:

Dear Mainstream Hip Hop;

It seems that our relationship has fully run its course. You have disfranchised, disenchanted, and on several occasions have brought me to the point of utter disgust. You have lied to me, made me see things that aren't valid, aren't prosperous, and downright scary! I hope you find your true self soon and don't worry its not you its me. I've grown and I have to move on to my new love the underground conscious artists because in the end the change will come with them. And as you say don't buy my records and don't download my rings tones don't worry I don't haven't in years but u have been reduced to dj's mix tapes that are free that I use to do my cardio workout to *smh* sad shame 25 years of history has been reduced in important to 15mins of a cardio workout...oh well. I will always love you mainstream hip hop for the distant memories from my childhood but now I must bid you Adieu......... *tear*

I like that chica. Well, you know me. I have never really been into Hip Hop. I enjoy true oldies like Sam Cooke, Etta James, Temptations, true soulful singers with a message. I too, am thoroughly disgusted with sodomization on the Hip Hop world. I, in no way, hold the rappers responsible for the actions of the youth nowadays because I feel that burden should lie with their parental figures. However, I would like the current teller of lies, "artists," to define the word art and self evaluate their supercilious, parsimonious, crap they now call Hip Hop. I am utterly disappointed with music today as it is not only Hip Hop that pollutes the world with unreservedly, degrading, comments about their very own cultural ethnic backgrounds and opposite sex. In order for a change to come, all must agree to take a stand and remain there until the desired change takes place.

It disturb me that I actually know women who fit these hainous descriptions and its scary that they think this is normal or the way things are suppose to be. So let me tell you about my world its one were every1 accepts responsibility for their actions right or wrong. Its a world were ALL conversations are open and honest and DRAMA is not allowed those uneccessary emotional highs and lows are NOT healthy at all! The world I live in is one where mainstream music and popular trends are NOT the jumpoff. That a man has to court you for a while....before he even thinks of getting this gift I call my body. Its were you thank the Lord everyday for the blessing of just being able to see another day and smiling through it all. I know I may catch flack for this but in my world "the Man" is the leader and I am his help being intelligent, strong, and ambitious is not erased when u let a man take his rightful place as a king in your life. This small little world I live in you understand that the energy you give out is exactly what you will get back this means if you sow negative you reap negative simple as that. Anti-Columbus Day

Why do we celebrate this holiday of a man who's criminal and cruel history was rival and duplicated by the likes of Hitler. People we need to realize that this man came into a country that wasn't his and stole its identity and resources for his own gain. He tried to kill off its indigenious peoples and currupt this lands resources. Then he was the main person setting the stage for the past and current human situation known as slavery. He raped women killed children and was certifiably insane!! WHY! Do we celebrat this man.

We should take this day to honor the indigenous peoples of this land that we find ourselves in as our home. We should celebrate the native peoples triumphs, heartaches, and mourn their tragedies not celebrate the man that brought these circumstances to their shores. We should remember also that this man made the way for slavery and paved the path through the waters to what is now our home not by our choosing but by our ancestors part in a pre-determined plan of hatred, destitution, hard-labor, and robbery. Lets please as a people just think about what this man has done to shape our country and not in a positive way, but in a way that still haunts us even today.

You just made him look that much better and set yourself up to loose in next years election *great work* by the way....lol you have successfully insured the landslide victory of your Democratic opponent because of your lack of tack.

In the world I reside you can get "anything"

Your heart's desire no matter the shape

No matter the color

No matter the level of asthetic beauty

But is really wrong for me not to just want "anything"

But , to crave something

To require everything

Even the wonderful things I have yet to think of

To want passion filled eves

To want mornings filled with exploration

To want the afternoon lazying with spending time

To want the days filled with our laughter

To need every single tear

To love every intimate detail we create

A Great Workout by Fiya Starter Pole Dance 411 Atlanta

Hey ladies! Here are some awesome cross training exercises! Use them to tone or get stronger for the pole!

 Original Workout Regime byFiyaStarta

Purchase a pair of 10 pound leg weights and a jump rope!

Arms and abs: Hold weights in hand while holding coxic balance position. (This position is when you sit on the floor chest up and pull your knees into your chest while balancing on your bottom) Use weights to do 40 bicep curls. Take a break and repeat.

Abs: Lie on floor, face up with toes aimed to the sky. Wear leg weights on ankles. Count to 10 lowering legs toward floor as low as you feel comfortable (without touching floor and without arching back) hold for 10 seconds then use 10 seconds to return to start position. Repeat 10 times

Butt and Thighs: Lie on side. With leg weights around ankle lift top leg 45 degrees in the air and make large circles keeping leg long and straight. Do 15 forward and 15 back. Switch sides! Repeat 3 times!

Back: No more back rolls! Lie on stomach with weights around ankles. Lift arms and legs off ground be sure their straight. And swim like there's no tomorrow. Try this for 1 minute then repeat! After all get up, remove leg weights and jump rope on and off for 15 minutes!
